April in Act-tion

This month at ACT, our students are stepping into one of the most active and exciting seasons of the year. From preparing for our End-of-Year Showcase to performing across the community, their growth is on full display. As we begin to close out the season, we’re also proud to spotlight our graduating seniors and celebrate all they’ve accomplished. And as we head toward our 15th Annual Champions for ACT Breakfast Celebration on May 7, we’re reminded that each of these moments is part of a larger story: one of access, opportunity, and the arts as a catalyst for personal growth, connection, and what comes next.

A Meaningful Close to the Season: The Big Show, End-of-Year Showcase

Our season culminates in our End-of-Year Showcase, a milestone event that celebrates the growth, dedication, and accomplishments of our students.

With over 400 attendees confirmed for our St. Petersburg showcase, the event brings together participating families and site partners for an evening of performance, recognition, and connection, followed by a shared dinner.

It’s a meaningful close to a season defined by growth, commitment, and creative expression.

ACT Students Perform at the Tampa Bay Chalk Festival

YCA vocal performance majors will take the stage at this year’s Tampa Bay Chalk Festival, bringing live music to a vibrant community celebration of art and environmental awareness.

ACT at the Soul Revival Festival

ACT students were featured at the Soul Revival Festival, an arts and wellness celebration that brings together creativity, community, and healing in the heart of St. Petersburg.

Hosted by Happy Soul Revival Inc., the festival honors the historic Deuces corridor while creating space for artistic expression, cultural celebration, and community care.

ACT YCA students showcased visual artwork in the visual arts tent, alongside live performances featuring a student vocalist and a dancer.

ACT Students Perform at EverForward Grand Opening

Two ACT students were honored to perform at the grand opening of EverForward on April 14, sharing their voices in support of an organization dedicated to uplifting young people who have experienced life challenges. Moments like these reflect the power of the Arts to connect communities and honor the humanity in every story.

Student Experience: Moulin Rouge! The Musical

ACT had the incredible opportunity to take 100 students and their families to see the National Tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

Opportunities like this are at the heart of our mission. Exposure to professional, high-caliber productions helps inspire, educate, and expand what our students believe is possible for themselves—and they fully embraced the experience.

Following the performance, students engaged in a Q&A with cast members, exploring topics such as auditioning, training, life on tour, and what it takes to build a career in the performing arts. The conversation was candid, insightful, and deeply motivating.

We are deeply grateful to our patrons and supporters whose generosity makes experiences like this possible.
